Best Courses to Learn Divi & Web Design

***Update January 2019***

I released this post before I began creating courses of my own and while I still highly recommend every course mentioned in the video, I just want to make sure you know I have a growing suite of courses as well that you might be interested in! If you’d like to learn Divi, learn CSS, create a Website Maintenance Plan, learn my Web Design Process, learn cPanel or learn WooCommerce, I have courses just for you!

When it comes to learning Divi, WordPress and the business of Web Design, it’s tricky to know where to start. There are numerous free Divi tutorials out there like my YouTube channel, the Elegant Themes blog, the free documentation that comes with Divi, and several others but if you want really want to expedite your web design journey and go from “novice” to “pro” while avoiding the hardships and lessons we’ve all learned the hard way, a course is well worth the small investment.

In this post, I’m giving you my personal recommendation on the top 3 Best Courses to Learn Divi and Web Design along with some other reputable training and course resources to look into.

1) Divi Business Expert Course

Course by: WPGears (Tim Strifler and David Blackmon)

This course is brought to you by Tim Strifler of Divi Life and David Blackmon of Aspen Grove Studios and Divi Space. The two are trusted colleagues of mine and are experts in the field. If you take this course, you’re certain to learn from the best and get real world, practical lessons that’ll help take you from a beginner to an expert Divi web designer.

One thing that separates this course from others out there is that it has a strong focus on the “business” side of being a professional web designer which is hard to come by. And with this course, you’re learning life-changing methods, strategies, tools and resources from guys who are currently kicking ass in the business. The lessons learned here, for the small investment of the course, is a deal I would not pass up if I were in the beginning stages again!

Course Description: We’ve carefully crafted Divi Business Expert to be the ultimate course for creating a web design and development business around WordPress and Divi! From the ground up, you’ll learn how to efficiently build gorgeous websites with Divi, how to find (and close) high paying clients, as well as how to build sustainable recurring revenue for your business. We hold nothing back, and share all of our secrets. Learn from our successes, and even our failures too, as we take you on the journey from $0 to 6 figures with Divi and WordPress.

2) Transforming Divi with CSS & JQuery

Course by: Divi Space (SJ James)

If you’re just getting into web design or even if you’ve been doing it for a decent amount of time, you’ve probably realized that you need to know a little CSS to take Divi (and any site for that matter) to the next level. I highly recommend this course if you want to level up on CSS and learn more about the very underrated and misunderstood coding language of JQuery.

Even as an experienced web designer who teaches CSS regularly in my tutorials, I recently went through this course and got so much value, a better understanding of CSS and more importantly, I gained a great understanding of JQuery and found out how powerful it is in taking Divi to the next level. I would highly recommend this for folks who have a basic understanding of CSS and want to level up.

Course Description: Created to help Divi users excel in their craft, the Divi Space Transforming Divi with CSS & jQuery Course will give learners deep insight into the fundamentals of CSS and jQuery to be able to begin building visually striking and functionally powerful Divi websites.

3) Break Into Web

Course by: John Wooten (Superfly, Artillery Media) & Kelly Diekmann

This course is an in-depth guide to the business and technical aspects of web design; ideal for someone who is brand new to the game and has no idea where to start. John Wooten is a trusted colleague of mine and is an absolute pro at Divi, Web Design and Design in general. You’ll be guided in detail how to become a successful web designer whether you want to make it full time as a freelancer or just have a profitable side hustle.

The best part, you can either choose the business side, technical side or both sides of the course together. While this one is a bigger investment than your average course, the amount of detail it covers and training you’ll receive are guaranteed to give you a massive ROI when you’re fully empowered to break into web.

Course Description: WE HAVE BOTH BUILT 6-FIGURE WEB DESIGN BUSINESSES WORKING FROM OUR HOMES. WE WANT TO HELP YOU DO THE SAME. Being your own boss means having the freedom to do more things you love … whether it’s touring with your band like John, or being able to attend your kids’ field trips like Kelly. What will you do with your new freedom?

I also highly recommend the many courses that Michelle Nunan offers on DiviSoup. Mak, who is most known as the Elegant Themes YouTube guy, also has some great courses for learning Divi on Divi University.

Well I hope these recommendations for Divi Courses have helped you in your web design journey. One important thing to remember when it comes to thinking about an online course is that people spend thousands and thousands of dollars in traditional schools pushing dated practices from teachers who are often out of touch with the tools and practical lessons learned in the real world of web design.

Courses like the one’s I’ve mentioned, taught by professionals who are actively in the game and who have built successful business, will give you a much bigger return on investment, faster. And while I’m not in any way against traditional education (and did very much value my 2 year community college design program), there’s just no better return on investment than learning straight from folks who are where you want to be. You can bypass years of struggles and thousands of dollars wasted by investing in one or (as I’d recommend) all of these courses. I certainly wish these were available when I got started.

So level up your web design game quickly and get going in these courses. And if you do and they rock your web design world, let them (and me) know!
